It's a two stage thing.
First upload your pictures to a hosting site on the internet
Second, link to the pictures at that site.
I use Photobucket.com, which is free.
You sign up for a free account, and get a username and password.
The user interface is pretty straightforward, and allows you to upload your own pictures direct to your own photo album at the bucket.
Each picture has a web address: eg:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v613/ ... cture3.pngIf you then add
"[img]"
at the front of that address, and
"[/img]"
to the end, you get....

Click on the "Upload attachment" tab below the text input area.
Click on the "Browse…" button.
Select and open the file.
Click the "Add the file" button.
The picture(s) will appear at the bottom of your post. If you want to place a picture in the text then click the "Place inline" button and you should now get the attachment in your text, something like this:You'll never guess who I spotted [ attachment=0 ]BFG in nude in BRG.jpg[ /attachment ] at Donington.

Nope, I don't follow Geoff's banter, either.
Maybe a mod thang?

Hi BFG,
Alternatively, if you don't want to use the 'hosting service' method, you can just add the photo directly into your post by using the 'upload attachment' tab, which is located just underneath the 'save/preview/submit' buttons.
You can find some instructions and info on size limits etc., here:

Martin

Jon,
Whoever told you size isn't important was lying (on this ocassion)
The pics have to be re-sized to 640 x 480 (or less) for them to appear in the text, otherwise they just give a green line and you have to download it!
It's to do with the amount of webspace available.

BFG,
The pic you have posted is 1024 x 762 pixels, hence appears as a green download link.......
....if you re-size the pictures you can make them appear in the text.....
....640 x 480 pixels looks like this...
640 x 480.jpg
......320 x 200 pixels looks like this...
