Since Yesterday, Sh4rk was sold...

I would be feeling very sad but because it was sold to my good friend George who was my co-driver to Donny and most of you met, this is a reason to make me happy. George is a true fun of driving and has lived all the metamorphosis of Sh4rk since day one. He knows how much I cared for the car, how I treated it, and what it means to me and I believe George is gonna experience great days driving Sh4rk.

Reason I sold it was simply that I lost "that feeling" for fast driving the past 3 years and actually since I lost my parents. I guess you all could have noticed that by the fact of my absence lately from the forum as well.... Sh4rk is made to be driven in daily basis with the revs on the redline and not to sit in a garage for most part of the week as it did lately.

The car was delivered in absolutely mint condition from every aspect.

Price that it was sold was 20.000 Euros, but no amount of money can buy the love I invested on that car, not to mention the money that I spent was A VERY LOT more.

Greg told to George "Sh4rk is not a car, its our child. Keep that in mind and feel safe that I will treat it with the same care I did for Costas."

What you created is a legend.

But life moves on.

George is a lucky man. Let's hope we still hear about Shark. And who knows, maybe we'll get to see it again. And you.

Good luck.

Costas, it was a privilige and a pleasure to have met you and George at Donington, although you have now sold SH4RK please stay with us here on LEC because what you have done is legendary amongst us all and an inspiration to many. Your friendship through the medium of the internet is much valued and just because SH4RK has gone to a new home does not mean you are any less welcome. You will always be Costas who built SH4RK - respect!

George, please join us here on LEC and keep SH4RK a part of our group.

Hope you get to come over as co-driver sometime in the future - as long as we're at Donington you'll be welcome to join us, and thanks for the inspiration so far. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do next Costas.

Hi Costas! Times change and people change, while cars stay only as we make them. Friends, though, remain longest of all. Please stay on the board - Doug is proof, you don't need an Elan to be welcome here. Please bring George to LEC as well. We'll all want to hear about the continuing adventures of Sh4rk.

Me not worthy ...

Loved and still love the movies on youtube. makes me feel small, but also makes me feel happy that i can still learn a lot 8)
As you know, every ending is also a new beginning. Keep us posted! (also if not a "car project" ;-) )
Good that you could sell the car to a friend and not a complete stanger. Keeps it a bit "in the family" ey?

Congrats to the buyer!

Thank you all for your kind and cheerfull words.

I must say that its allready strange for me that I ve been in the Sh4rk as a passenger for a couple of times, but at the same time its a great feeling to have sold the car but beeing able to see it and ride very often. Its a great relief for me that George is allready feeling comfortable driving the Sh4rk and he seems like he owned it for many years, not days.

Of course I ll stick around, this forum is more than a virtual family, to me.

Is Sh4rk any harder to drive? Is the clutch any heavier? Max

YES, its a lot harder to drive.
Just and only the HP power (362-437) makes it hard since everything happens a lot faster, combine it with Quaife Differential, 17" wheels, Stiff racing suspension, custom made competition flywheel which is almost half in weight that stock one, 4 puk Clutch (heavier), and of course the modified and of much less weight microbalanced crank shaft-rods-forged pistons that increase revs a lot faster make the difference. Add to all those the terrible roads that Greece has and there you go!

Just to make a point, I personally could never drive the car at full power (437hp) with confidence, it was clear that the car's perfomance and abilities were way above my driving skills. George can prove to be better :)

Perhaps Enright would like to make a comment along the lines of the one captured on the Donington video a few years ago just after he got out of Sh4rk's passenger seat. :smt103 :smt082

:D Nahhh, you see while I was at Donny the car was set at 1.1-1.2 Bar Turbo pressure and no NOS, so it should be at around 270Hp. Thats handlingable by me, but there is a huge difference between 270 and 400ish Hp.
Honestly, when I set it up at max power and accelerate on 2nd gear, I fight to keep it going on a straight line :?

George had the car delivered with the turbo pressure 2 settins at 1.1 Bar and 1.4 Bar. He will soon post his own experience but I asked him NOT to use 1.4 or even increase it to 1.6 unless he feels 100% comfortable handling the car and stick to 1.1bar (270ish HP) for a while.
