We are going to have a go at Renvo soft top cleaner and colour. We cleaned it with Turtle Wax soft top cleaner and proofer its come up like new. We wouldn't mind the stitching dying back to black. I believe the Renvo will deal with this. Andy & Max

We cleaned the back window with Shift it Helmet Polish a couple of weeks ago. With an old pair of undies i might add. After giving the car a quick wash
i thought lets give it another go. But with the micro fibre cloth. The results last time where fantastic. This time the half that we have done has gone cloudy.
We have tried putting a bit more on and tried to bull it up. Small circles clean cloth. But its just not shifting. Should we try to remove the polish? thought i
would try the BMW stuff but they have stopped making it. ( That's what i get for taking the pi$$ out of Electrolleyboys dimmer switch.) What would make it do the cloudy thing second time around?

Yep...you're right...no longer available...(the rotters)

I have one left which I have posted off to you...buy me a drink next time I see you.

Do NOT use your grundies, and make sure there is no grit on the screen before you use it, and try not to get it on the roof material, it is a polish and will leave a white residue which will clean off, but is a bit of a pain.

Use it gently and try not to put your fist through the screen !!

Let us know whether it works...

T-Cut..

...but make sure you use the 'Metalic Paint' version (blue/grey bottle). not the 'Standard' stuff in a red pot - it's much finer.

I've just bought and used some of this. Novus plastic polish. I've never used anything like it and I've tried a few products over the years. Its incredible. I bought it to remove some scratches in the speedo cluster and tried it on the rear window. Its looks ABSOLUTELY NEW. Totally blown away by it. A must have for anything plastic including rear light lenses, etc.

My rear window was really getting quite bad so I thought I can not make it any worse so attacked it with some 600 wet and dry then up the grades to 1500 and finished off with some Renovo window polish. The results were good considering and now I will have to mask off the canvas of the hood and do the rest.

Pic shows the bit I did lower right and the left hand what is was like.
All those little spots are on the surface of the plastic and should come out well they did at the bottom.

Have many different products in my garage, tried Autoglym...Never even touched it...Tried a section with Farrarclay a bit better but still not great, then tried Mer and it has come up "bang on"

Before my rear window was like looking at fish through a thick greasy mucky glass but now it is pretty much bang on..

Sup to you works for me :P

We first tried a small bottle from a bike shop called helmet Polish. First time we used it the window came up like new. When we tried to use it again the polish started to turn the plastic cloudy. Far worse then it was before we first cleaned it. We then spent two hours with Crystal Glow. This made the cloudy half of the window better. But not as good as it first was with the helmet polish. We then tried some BMW stuff which started to make it cloudy again. We then tried Plexus which made it better but still not as clear as the half with the first time round Helmet Polish. Its OK but we wish we had left the first result. We still can't understand why we have had different results with the same polish at different times. Andy

Which Mer product did you use?

I`ve removed the Hardtop and put the softtop back on, but the rear screen has gone a bit cloudy.

Monty,

I've had good results with T-Cut (blue pot for metalic paint, not the red pot for solid paint).

It's quite a fine polish, and brought my windows up a treat.

The reason MER works is because its a slight T-Cut, & the milky effect on the rear screen is a coating, hence the t-cut cuts through it. Brasso's better, but is harder work.
