Hi Don ,
hope these are of some use. Also note using the original runners there is no problem with seat belt fixings. Sorry about the picture quality on some of the pics

Ade: thank you very much for the pictures.

They give me good advice, how I could manage my own seat-project. And your seats look very fine and fit to the design of the elan. Good work
The link to the trimshop did I have saved... perhaps for a different project... they seem to be a good alternativ for more examples.
Thx&kind regards

Hmm. Glad it can be done, but I don't know I see the aesthetic benefit. I assume it's a hell of a track seat though.

heres an option:
brackets supplied by me to Nige and fitted to his Elan
seats.jpg
Pictures c/o Nige
Just two aluminium cross pieces to pick up the original elise seat runners .
£30.00 for 4
Nothing to stop this from being modified to fit other seats.

Martin,
The Exige subframe has double shear mountings either side for the lap straps and the shoulder straps are a wrap around fitting on the rear cross brace of the hoops.

Thanks Nige - I was hoping you were not going to say that as I think I have just bought some bucket seats but they will not have Exige subframes - need to see what they are like when they arrive as I want to fit harnesses and retain the normal seat belts
cheers

If you use an eye bolt on the normal ourboard seat belt mounting point and find a way of fitting an eyebolt inboard (through the shell into the chassis) you should be able to do that.

good idea I will look into that - might need a slightly longer eyebolt to accomodate both

Would depend on who's seats but it should be possible to modify the brackets to pick up your seats and make an allowance to pick up both standard seat belts and a harness.
May be just an extension in length and a couple of eyes for the harness

There is some latitude in the position so it should not be a problem
