Overfueling!!!!

Hi i think my car is over fueling, when it is driven very steadily then you feather the throttle to pick up more speed it hesitates and then with a pop in the exhaust and a small puff of smoke (black) it picks up speed.

It is fine if you are driving is quickley and it has no misfire or flat spots etc

Also when the car is hot and you go back to start it, it cranks over for quite a while before firing then when it does fire the small black puff again

I really think the car is overfueling but i am unsure where to look, could it be an air intake pipe split of MAF......

It's normal. The heat buildup in the cylinders do not allow for a proper AF ratio as hot air is less dense than cooler. Similar but not the same as flooding the engine.

As for overfueling, my car does this as well. Check elanscan to see if your TPS is off by just a hair. Mine is but I haven't had the chance to realign it. Alittle rich is not a bad thing in a turbo car.

Mine does that too, but only if it's been sitting a while. If I get back in to start it up within 15 -20 minutes of shutting it off, it starts right up, but if it's been sitting for anywhere between 1-5 hours, it has to crank for several seconds. It bugs the shite out of me, and I've long wondered if it's normal for these cars.

That sounds like a mirror of my car...
I only gathered it was normal-ish when one of the mechanics at Paul Matty started my car and I was there to watch and he knew exactly what to do to start it. Whereas a normal person not knowing the car would stop turning the key. And think 'oh bollocks!'

I find it embaressing though! It looks like the car is 'playing up' to a passer by...

We have just had the plugs, leads, timing and idle done. When we first got the car back starting from cold you just had to touch the key and it would fire up.
Now a couple of weeks later its still good and fires up quick, but you do have to turn the engine over. It has a little burble through the exhaust before it starts.
With fitting new plugs and leads is there anything that would need fine tuning after things have settled down. I.e timing and idle. So soon after first being set.
