Can anyone tell me the difference between A100U488F and B100U328F ?

Sorry for butting in guys but I think I may have part of the answer to the above question.

I have a copy of the Lotus "Service Parts List" dating from June 1992. So I thought I would have a look and see what the part references were for the Pillar Seal Carriers and guess what? They are listed as B100U0327F for LH and B100U0328F for RH. So it would appear that some time post June 1992 the Pillar Seal Carriers changed in design and were allocated new Part Numbers.

I'm attaching, to this post, a PDF of the reference diagram and will attach, in my next post, a PDF of the matching reference list. The "Illustration numbers" are 087 & 088.

Hope this helps.

So, it would appear that they've fitted one early and one late carrier?

I'm loathed to disturb the LH one, as it's not a bad fit (probably could be better) - however firstly, I guess I need to clean up my RH screen pillar (quite a bit of corrosion) and work out what holes I need to drill...

The WSM indicates that the pillar is a box section - should I be looking at drilling and tapping for machine screws, or just go with self tappers?

Dave,

The face of the carrier that mates to the A-Post (where foam strip and sikaflex are used) - is it straight/parallel on one/both components, or is there curvature?

I appriciate, from a side view, there is a bow to the screen, mirrored along the length of the carrier - but does it lie flat on it's 'back'?
(and is the A-Post flat)...

I seem to be in need of alot of packing'/foam/sikaflex towards the bottom of the A-Post?

Well, the good news is I've got the carrier back on (dry fit) and the seal is a fit I'm happy with (dry)

I'll sikaflex it all tomorrow, but in the meantime - another question...

The seal has a step in it where it meets the door mirror ; where is the step supposed to locate in relation to the door mirror seal?
Above, below, ontop?

Not very good pics, but if you look at your car, you'll see what I'm asking...
