how to fit an switchable fan ( under construction GEOFF !)

Fitted a 'plug n play' option at the weekend - didn't fancy sticking wires in holes, especially the one shown in the photo sorry Clemo
The connector shown above is pin 86 - at least it is on my car - and if you earth that you will blow fuse A10 which also feeds the ECM IIRC. Maybe a friendly photoshop wiz can put it right?
I hard wired two relays together and simply plugged them in [having removed pin #5 from the AC relay first ] along with a Carlton fog light switch. This was a pain as the teminal block in the dash was unclipped You can get to it by dropping the glove box, providing you have skinny wrists, like wot 'er indoors has

BTW the relay bank shown is under the upper dash cover so no need to stand on your head - still a pain to get the fan relay out tho'

im having problems getting my cooling fans working . i have earthed the terminal on the thermo housing and with the igniton off the pump runs.
but with the ignition on the fans dont come on. the fuse number 4 gives a live when the ignitions off but no live with the ignition on ..

can anyone be of any help with this issue?

Clemo,
If you remove all the relay units from the board, and undo those two 10mm bolts, you can get to the underside of the fuse-box. No more standing on head in the footwell

Theres a 30A fuse supplying the load side of that relay. Just be careful that the relay is seated back properly. You dont want any dodgy connections causing a hot junction! Thats how some car fires are started.

and that could be why i have no power to the 2 fans

the hand book lists 2 15amp fuses not 1 30amp anywhere

Hi I followed this to the letter post 85 to earth ignition on ,and I know the fans work but nothing ,, any ideas please
