as it seems to be difficult to find a Lotus NA, may I could help as all Kia NAs have aircon if your concrete question does not concern the engine?

Certainly AC 'could' be fitted, as I've seen it on several Isuzu NAs in the states. Whether this option was fitted to NA M100s is the truly applicable question. Even if not it could be 'back-fitted' if the needed parts were culled from an SE (condenser, evaporator, compressor).

I did that on a Mazda RX-2 I owned long ago. I had a 1973, a year when factory AC was not yet offered. I pulled all the necessary parts (including all the duct-work) from a 1974 RX-2 which I'd seen just languishing on someone's private property. Nearly thirty years ago I paid him $100, which allowed me to wrench away & take everything I needed.

I haven't seen it ..... But the parts book lists a belt for A/C no PAS which would apply to the NA

I've got the Power steering optional extra on the N/A......

I've just never seen an N/A with air con... I must read the sales pitch and see if it was ever offered...

When using the A/C, does anyone know what may cause cool air to come out of the vents for 5 minutes and then go hot again even with the dial set to "Recirc."

It's not going off topic at all, that's what I had in mind... (The after sales list has so much A/C stuff at the Mo and there's a few donor cars around).

It possible.... several people have done it...

It's a big ass job, but not insurmountable...

Obviously the whole dash has to come out.
A worthwhile job if you can do it yourself! Not so if you're paying someone else to do it as I would have to. I'd expect a 3K bill and that's just not worth it...

I've done it without taking the dash out. Retrofitting is not hard... just time consuming.
