Hi everyone. I've already posted a few times and have been lurking for a month but decided to introduce myself finally.
My name is Don and live in the Atlanta, Georgia area. A month ago I purchased a red 41K mile Elan from the second owner. Unfortunately the second owner neglected the car thus I purchased it at a bargain basement price. That also means that I'll be needing quite a bit of help sorting things out. I've already replaced the fuel pump and tires and it now seems to be doing well but there are a lot of pieces that are missing, broken, etc. not to mention the peeling clearcoat. 7 or 8 years ago I owned a '91 Isuzu Impulse RS so I'm somewhat familiar with the engine but it's been a while back and my memory is not so good. Reading thru the forum has brought back a lot of memories of the drivetrain.
Anyway, I look forward to getting the car up to snuff and please excuse any ridiculous questions I may have. I'll try my best to search before asking.
Thanks

Welcome, Don, and thanks for rescuing a car that some of us expected to see being broken. Good luck and bon chance!

Welcome to LEC - feel free to ask whatever you want - someone will know the answer (or where to get it from).
Was this the car from NJ ??????
Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

No, I'm pretty sure the car was originally from Atlanta and then the second owner spent some time in Ohio before moving back to Atlanta.
