Today tried glueing the fuzzy felt onto the outer and adjusted inner support pad position with some success. The glass is now solid in the fully up and down positions and some of the way up BUT it flaps around too much for my liking at about 3/4 up position. Any ideas?
Cheers

Did you do all 4 pads -- inner & outer at front and rear of door?

All 4 pads now have the fuzzy stuff attached (previously, one fuzzy had fallen off into the bottom of the door). I adjusted the rear inner pad position only.

Whats 'way too much' ? measure it and i'll compare with mine which has all new sliders, butterflies, felts, bobbins, weatherstriiping etc etc. if its excessive then its sounds like one of the sliders is broken or the bobbin holding it has come loose.

It's about a centimeter (although that is a rough measurement). Must admit defeat on this as I couldn't see anything obvious. Door trim back on (for now). I will keep an eye it but I really don't fancy removing the glass/motor (door trim removal not too bad a job though)
Thanks for all the help guys

I don't think a centimeter is too much play to be concerned about. Don't forget that this is a convertible with no framing around the window like you get in your average car. Those window frames keep the glass in a perfect position with no play at all. I think most convertibles with this type of design have someplay in the window. At least those made in the early '90's.

I do whatever my Rice Crispies tell me to do

Yea, I guess you're right. I was comparing it with a recently repaired drivers side so I will keep an eye on it.
Thanks again
