new boy on the block, b0ought a pup!!

Postby ronnie graham » Sun 06.09.2009, 22:07

First of all can i say thanks to this site has helped me a lot, as i've bought a pup, the car had numerous problems and i'm getting depressed!

So far have spent a small fortune of spares for front end wheel bearings, disks, pads, track rod ends, calipers, then a hub which was the original problem.... talk about trials and tribulations... now the little swine has developed a coolant leak.

It must be female, it gets unconditional love and hates me, damn!!

Its only the good people in lotus land whom in the past have helped with my previous elise and now my elan, which have kept me sane; one day i will own a lotus which I can drive and have a pure joy smile on my face. Right now i get occasional joy, but recurring woes, but the love continues, nothing but nothing drives like a lotus.

So thanks all lets hope, it all comes together at some point.

I'm sure it'll come together.

Hopefully the coolant leak isn't too serious - if it's the rad they can be recored for not many ££ and then it'll be good for another 15 years.

Great to drive, though aren't they?

It probably isn't a pup, and you've probably just been very unlucky.

There's plenty of help about on these fora.

Where are you based?

Yep. It's true. Your car is is a lady. Just rember, as a lady she needs constant attention good or bad. To keep her happy she needs to stretchher legs every now and again and she only deserves the best petrol oil and coolant. Whe a hose goes south as they always do you can go with what she had or give her something better. Girls like that

Hi folks
I'm based in scotland, politics aside, yes the car is great to drive never had a front hooker drive with over steer, fab to drive, actually prefer it to the elise I had, at lower speeds or should i say legal speeds not that I condone any such behaviour.....

I think all will be well if it dont kill the credit card, just so frustrating, thanks god for sites like this has been a boon.

I hope she will be back to full glory at some point just gonna take time, and patience, not something I'm known for.

I have been a life long lotus fan, have worked on type one elans, eclat's, elise's and now my own elan, still a rank amateur though and have lots to learn.

Hope to make some friends in here and share the pain, happy driving, and thanks for the kind comments.

Based in scotland where politicians dont necessarily represent the views of the public and where the rain is in plentyful supply, thanks for the kind words.

Think the nearest guys to you are Stevo and Scott_J. Not seen them on the forum recently though.

Alan (AB2CV), M400KAY and I are within reasonable range, too. Rambo and RonJR are a wee bit further afield but, again, within what I'd consider to be reasonable range.
