My new alloy tank has arrived as well as some nice iridium spark plugs.

I should say I got the ignition electrics all sorted thanks to Mr Smith. I have to fit the new 'minimalist' Carbon facia and tidy up the centre tunnel cover. I'm sorting out fuzes and relays to tidy up what's there (after a little prompting and a lot of advise from Bob on his last visit). Then it will be time to fit the Battery and start fitting my new Hella lights! In a non popup type way :? All good fun and it keeps that hungry brain of mine busy!

This is my design for a race fuel tank as supplied to ProAlloy, it went through a few detail revisions thanks to their incredibly helpful team. I also just found out they do a lot of custom work for the Elise boys and one of the team is on SELOC. They do Radiators, coolers, induction etc. worth checking them out.

Shiny new fuel tank, foam filled so it's safe and the fuel doesnt slosh about when the tank is not full on short stints etc.
Bob has donated his (non PAS) steering rack (in the background), so I can loose some more weight and gain some more 'feel'! Oh it's coming along!

I will ask ProAlloy to build me a custom alloy pipe, Intercooler to Plenum, as I'm not too happy with the carbon fibre one I have made; However it is the right size and shape so, it will make a good pattern to copy.

After the MOT !

I have to sort out:

Upper bodyshell
Head Lights
Steering Rack
Fuel System
Electrics
Brakes
Seat & Harness

When it's driveable I'll weigh it, then sand bag it to it's original weight for the MOT, until I can get some new shocks and springs set up. I'll develop the aero as much as I can when it's on the road. I may have to sell the Road Elan as I am buying a flat and it's all getting too expensive! :? I'll just be left with 2 lotus cars then. :(

I'm not planning on putting a lid on, too much weight. I'll just waterproof the interior as I go. My new CF tunnel cover, is the length of the tunnel. I just need to build a housing for the hand brake to keep the rain out. The total weight of the tunnel cover should be less than 500 g when finished.

This car is a bit of an anomaly - looks like Fed wheels alright, but what about the RHD? And the front bumper is not Fed - the indicator lenses aren't inset.

When McLaren Cars see what I can offer them and I get paid what I'm worth. Honestly though, I have so much to do for people on LEC I don't have time to work on my own cars.

I'm really just trying to get some parts for the car at the moment, been waiting a long time!

The steering rack should be back from being welded this week and maybe if Mike contacts me then I can get the replacement Engine subframe couriered down here and fitted.
Bob will hopefully bring over the final bits for the brake upgrade and we can get them fitted, bobs special hubs on and the car can have wheels bolted on!

When it's off the precarious axel stands and Monty has his Elise light panel, I'll finish the bodywork. :D That should finish this winter too!

Still a need to design and build the new induction system. But I'm finishing a lot of other small projects first to get some much needed space in the workshop.

Engine frame arrived today, although it's not as good condition as I was led to believe. At least I can get the car back together and it shall be moveable!
