New Elan owner J777 MCL

Postby Rich Coleman » Wed 14.10.2009, 22:10

Having owned my elan for a few months now and regular use of this forum, I thought i'd better introduce myself!
I'm Rich, live in Gloucestershire, and well, like I said above have owned my elan for two months - already covered 2,500 miles  so I'm now trying to keep it locked up in the garage and to not just take it for random drives! Although it's given me no problems and everything still works as it should, I'd like to keep the milage from going sky high!
My previous car was a 16v series 1 106 Rallye, like Kenich (also from the rallye register and here) I fancied something a bit special, completely coincidentally we both bought an elan within a few weeks of each other - it wasn't until he saw a post on here from me that he PM'd me asking what I was doing that we found out! Strange!
I have a few plans for the elan, but I'll be keeping it standard. Mainly sort out the paintwork, there are a fair few stonechips on the nose cone so this is my first plan of action, then I'll be looking to remove a phone aerial.. but apart from that, it's all standard and in great condition.
Am I right in thinking they're fairly rare in black? A few people have told me this.. Also, if anyone recognises the plate/car I'd love to here what you have to say :)

Here are some piccys (just incase you forgot what an elan looks like :P )

Welcome. Black is fairly rare - yours looks good. I've always thought black suits the car's lines.

Cheers

I'm sure i've seen you in Bisley before, going back a fair few months now but it's thanks to you I started doing some research into the elan and ended up buying one! Looks fantastic mate!

Rich, welcome to LEC and your Elan. They do look good in black and it is a fairly rare colour.
