old new boy seeks soulmate

Postby bobberjob » Fri 30.10.2009, 13:35

Hi
I am considering buying an Elan and would like to meet up with someone who can show me around a good one and take me for a ride!
Have had lots of cars and just sold a Z4
Looking at the Elan because
1. They are different
2- they are reasonably priced
3. I couldn't afford one when they were new

I don't know if they are for me so any help would be gratefully received
based in Pershore near Worcester

Carl, welcome to LEC and I hope you find the right Elan for you. There are a few Elan owners who are regulars here in your area, I'm sure they'll be along to say hello and offer to assist you in due course.

Carl, there are a few up around Brum and there is a load of BOLLECKS just down the road from you. I used to average around 20mpg when I first got it but having taken off the MBC and replaced it with an Everest, I'm averaging 30+ now. It's a shame you missed Malvern last month as there were quite a few Elans/owners there but if you want any help or advice, just shout and people usually will.

Ha, I've just seen exactly where you are........ have you seen this thread by any chance?

Hi Carl,
I,m in Malvern and would happily show you my car. At this time of year it doesn't get out much though and the evenings are dark.
I'll try to identify a week-end when we can meet and have a play.

Hi Niall, Carl

If we could come up with a mutually agreeable weekend we could all meet and have a pint or 2.

Or Carl, if you wanted to meet on a week day send me a PM/Email.
