You are really amazing - all of you! I like the red one also and wil make contact to see if still available so I can go and take a look but will also carry on searching. Thanks again for all your brilliant help and advice.

Gazza, I was thinking about looking at this one as well. Do you think the fact that it was for sale for less money earlier this year and it's now back on the market could indicate a problem?
Thanks

Karen,
As Chris.t is not that far away I'm sure he would not object to going have a look see at the red S2 in Gatwick as all the pictures in the world do not give the true picture.
As for the other red SE it does not have the original wheels and so they will not be of the correct offset for the car so will be detrimental to the cars handling.

Karen, I can go over and look at the car for you if you want. Looks a fairly honest example from the pics but I'm sure the price can come down a bit

seen that car before....
http://www.classic-auctions.co.uk/pictu ... arno=40477the only thing is the price......
the ad I saw it didnt sell......the ad specky found had it sold at just over £5k.....now they want £8k....
bit steep for me...but if you can tell them you know the cars history over the past few years you may be able to get it down....

Thanks so much for this. I really don't want you to go to any bother at all but if you are nearby and you are able to have a quick look it would be such a huge help. Thanks again.
Kind regards
Karen

Thanks so much Songbird, Specky, Chris T and Elanman. I am trying to grab a few moments when no one else is in earshot so I can make some calls on the cars you have pointed out to me but every time I get to the phone one of the family appears. Never thought this secrecy thing would be so bloody hard to keep up but looks like it will be worth it as there do seem to be some lovely Elans around that I can just about afford!

Interesting that the picture on the Gatwick site was taken on the 18/8/2009 not sure of the other web site as the pictures there do not have a date stamp on the picture file.
more ammunition to get the price down
