Well done Bob ...
Ive been watching the progress of this with intrest, as I liked the look of this car when it was advertised in the summer.... At that time I am sure it was up for £9000+ ... Really hope the deal gets done and that Karen + Andy enjoy Elan ownership... I am sure Andy will be gobsmacked when he sees it.

That really is good news. To all who have helped thank you and be proud of what you have done, you are all a great credit to LEC .
If Karen is happy it would be really good if some of us could be there at the unveiling.

Excellent news and an excellent idea Bob - we have been known to put on a half decent convoy or two!

Well said, this sort of thing restores your faith in people.
Karen I hope Andy enjoys his new toy, best wishes to you both.

My thoughs are that if he walks outside to just take a "look and see" a sees a row of Elans he will not suspect one is actually his will add more of a suprise.
If Karen does not pick this thread up by Monday I will give her a ring and see what she thinks but with no pressure as it is her call.

now I like the sound of that......
"husband dear...as a bit of a suprise...I know you like sports cars so I got a few lotus lads to turn up and let you have a look....".....
then when he get to the end of the line....."oh and this one is yours...."

and Id be up for something like that if it wasnt a 3 hr drive.......each way (about 300 miles round trip

)

Top stuff, Bob. I hope this all gets finalised nicely. Sounds like Karen & Andy have a good 'un.
I like your idea about some of us being there with our own Elans for the unveiling.
I can make next Friday but not Saturday.

Nice one Bob, sounds like a good car there. Hope all goes well for the unveilling. I would love to be there but its bound to be a really private moment i guess.

If the presentation is to be done next week, Fri or Sat 27/28th and Karen would like a few of us to attend, I'm free. Oxford isn't too far (well, M25 a bit, M40 a bit).

Thanks to all of those who've said they would be willing and able to take part (I don't have an Elan on the road at the moment so am not one of you). The decision must be Karen's and Karen's alone it wpuld not be right for any of us to presume, no matter how well intentioned, but thank you for your willingness. I leave it to those who've made direct contact to advise. What has been done already is great, there is no necessity to do more unless it is really going to add value.

Well, I have just had a chat with Bob and I suppose the only thing I need to know is how many cakes to buy and who takes sugar!? I would love to offer something a bit stronger if there was no driving involved and whoever turns up will be most welcome - Bob will have all the details. x

Karen thinks it is a lovely idea so tea and cakes are being organised.
All things being equal the car is being collected on Friday morning and Karen will advise the final timings, provisionally it looks like an unveil at 2:30 pm ish, so if those that are willing to come along can meet at say at the park and ride off the A40 just before you get into Oxford and we can then coordinate a drive in which is only a mile (OX3 9ER)
