Just ordered a lambda sensor from Rock Auto, tried to also add a timing cover gasket as they're on offer at $4, but that upped the postage from $19 to over $48 Removed it from the cart. The 5% discount code works fine.

At checkout time, I noticed that they've added $10.86 to the total, a 15% extra and this is marked VAT with a GB VAT code. Pretty sure as a UK resident I can import from non EU countries VAT free if under £120 inc postage? The order less VAT totals £43.85, so humph, I've been stiffed the VAT on what should be a VAT free order Guess at least as they're now charging VAT on UK orders that means we won't get stiffed with import VAT and the usual high handling charge that Royal Mail levy for paying on our behalf.

Having checked on VAT rates with government web sites, all orders from non EU countries with a value below £120 are import duty exempt. Will query this with Rock Auto.

I just ordered a water pump and all the bits for the cambelt from Rock Autos following the advice on parts numbers in this thread and others here..

Ordered late Thursday night, an hour or so later I had an email with tracking numbers from two separate locations. They were shipped directly to my mechanic and I paid £130 including International Priority shipping. Parts arrived Monday morning and, fingers crossed, I'll have the car back by the weekend.

Brilliant price and service and thanks to all who posted the cross reference parts which were exactly right!

LEC to the rescue yet again.
