Really, Lotus still does tank recalls? I hope so as me-O-my-O yeller car hasn't been dealt wid yet.

I had NO IDEA Smaug was going to be featured. I sent the email off and never heard a peep! I also haven't received my October hemmings yet. But who is Peter?

Did you mention the fuel-tank recall to them, or is that attributed to the mysterious Peter person?

the article is pretty much a paraphrase and restatement of what I wrote, including the mention of the recall. I think "Peter" is just an editorial goof. my children have taken to calling me Peter whenever I mention the Lotus.

Got my tank replaced 5-days ago by my local Lotus dealer. As opposed to when I had to pay for this myself several years ago, they seemed most thankful to have the business & billed about $850 off to Lotus!

Yep - it's fun to look underneath and see a shiny new gas tank. Gives you a yardstick for cleaning the rest of the undercarriage.

Mine is due to go in on the 21st of December (which means I really do have to finish putting my driver's door back together before I drive it the 100 miles from upstate NY to NJ).
It took quite a while for my mechanic to get the tank (evidently it had to come from England) and suddenly he's in his busy season doing "C services" (on Esprits, I think).
I can't wait to get it swapped out as I have definitely smelled gasoline when driving.
