Can anyone tell me if there is supposed to be a seal at the bottom of the windscreen near to where it meets the bonnet?? If there is mine doesnt have one so i will need one obviously so any pointers where i can get one would be useful.

I gave my car its first proper drive today under my ownership and i couldnt have chosen a day with worse weather. Rain was relentless and hail stones the size of golf balls. I was dreading get soaked inside the car but i never had a drop of water enter the car!!

The reason for my journey was that I put my car in to Christopher Neills today for an inspection, basically to reassure me that i hadnt bought a death trap.

After a wait that wasnt too different to when i waited for my partner to give birth, Paul from service delivered the good news that is in mint condition and that i have bought myself a cracker. I am therefore very very pleased with my purchase.

Whilst there i also took the opportunity to enquire about a retrim for my seats, CN can get them done the same as the S2 with motif, piping etc for £450 per seat, is this a good price??

I also managed to get myself a set of car mats, i have been searching everywhere for a set and followed many links posted on here but to no avail. They were right under my nose at CN for £40 a set. If you are interested give Paul in parts a call.

Im not sure what peoples opinions are of CN on here as i am relatively new to this site but i can never find fault with them. They are an excellent dealership and ever so helpful who take the time to offer the personal touch.

That's good. ShaunM used to say that his was leak-free btu G UK & I caught him drying off the inside of one his windows during our camping trip to Wales this year.
Mine used to stay fairly dry too, until a trip home from Hethel in '08 when a seal wore away just enough to cause fast dribble onto the passenger seat

Check out the Interior section of the forum. kmckmc (who lives in the far east) got his re-trimmer to make up some templates from S2 seat covers a while back & can get covers made to order, including door cards & gear lever/handbrake gaiters for about half that price. You will need to get them fitted & the seats re-padded as well though & this is not supposed to be easy. If you get the whole lot sorted at one place you can inspect it when you collect the car.

as for the retrim....erm IIRC the factory were doing it at £365 per seat and they fitted S2 bases to your seat so the 'bottom' doesnt fall out of them............

you need to speak to Mel Broome I think is the name........someone may well corect me but it should be on here somewhere

Im going to get them done by the lady who used to work for Lotus - £249 per seat.

Just need to figure out costs for gettting the seats to her, does anyone know the weight of the seats?
