Steve, you have a response to your PM. I think that is still a repair possibility, but not at full cost labour rates, you would need to put a lot of your own time and effort into it. As already said parts will be the challenge but it might be worth buying a Fed car with a damaged front end but intact rear and building into a salvaged but intact shell. Maybe something like this one. It may look horrible but the tub looks sound and you could sell the remaining parts on to cover some of your costs.

Dear Steve:

You have PM. I may be able to help. Do you have a list of parts needed?

Sincerely,

Algirdas

That would be me :smt039

(btw, Don, I got your email)

Parts requests/inquiries can be made by contacting me at sales@knoxmotorsports.us

Our prices will be very reasonable. Let me know what we can do for you. We would like this car to be remembered as one that gave its life to save its owner, and now it will give new life to Loti in need. :smt023

Excellent news, Steve! I'm glad you have a fun new Elan. Watch out for those trucks in the future and thanks for the pointer to Knox Motor Sports. I don't need anything at the moment, but this is one reference that gets filed for future need!

Congratulations. We need to get together this spring. Maybe a Lotus run around the Chesapeake bay with visits to some light houses?

I'm pleased with the end result on this, although it's shame it had to happen at all. Good luck with the new car Steve.

Very late to the thread, but as another red Elan driver in norther VA just wanted to say I'm glad the story has a happy ending, and I'm jealous of the paint and mileage on the new car.
All the best,
Ian
