This looks a great way to keep an eye on whats going on in your engine ( http://oil-spy.com/ ) it will give you early warning of the dreaded HGF

it looks like a good idea, but my head gasket was gone between the cylinder and the water system and didn't contaminate the oil so wouldn't show up
