A Pillar seals

Postby surfboardfiller » Thu 11.02.2010, 13:28

I just bought a pair of A pillar seals from Lotus and am astonished at how bad they look. The surface isn't even smooth, its pitted and rutted with flaws, so I don't know how it will work as good as the old ones. Not impressed, I could do better myself. They look like they were made in China for 5 pence, I'm wondering weather to bother fitting them.

Has anyone fitted a set of the new batch seals?

Cheers,

Phil

I bought a pair when they first came back on stream. Didn't fit them myself, got Mattys to do it. I agree that they dont look like much for your money (understatement!) . On the other hand my old ones were much worse (!) with lots of the surface missing and chunks of filler foam missing too. The old ones didn't work at all. These ones work well - pretty much perfect in bad weather, just the occasional drip once the doors been opened or when I clean it. If your old ones are shot.....its definitely worth doing, but if they work but just look skanky there's no point cos there's no aesthetic benefit in the new ones.

I agree with surfboardfiller - mine were very poor.
Sent them back and was promised they would check stock for better quality.
No reply yet - I wait.
They are not easy to fit so I would rather stick with my existing ones than risk more leaks.

Better still, phone them up and say they haven't arrived and ask for another set. Do it the Scottish way
