I have a receipt with my elan which had a new hood 1 year ago - Think the price was around 700? Will check when I'm home next.

depends on what you get for your money.....:)
I paid £740 for mine but that was new seals, hood hood, new webbing......everything really.....
just make sure you get the seals.....IIRC theyre about £300 alone....

I'm in the market for a new hood for my S1. Can you let me know the suppliers you use and whether you are happy with the quality?

Thanks, Rusty.

a few years back, I got one of the last Trim Tech ones (with a new frame and seals) and that was something like £1200 so these prices all sound cheap to me....

trim tech is the maker and supplier to lotus of the original hoods , they do the better wider s2 kit hoods with or without rubbers.
you will need a header seal if nothing else.

dean holt is the name of the guy who we have delt with in the past he put a lot of time and effort into getting our hoods re-made.

i would reckon that any other hood supplier has bought from trims and marked up a few quid or not worth bothering with.

there are no hoods on frames available anymore so it is making the best of what you have from now on.

I too am in the process of getting a new hood fitted complete with new seals.
Both Theelanman and Kenich have provided me with valuable assistance.

I have just established that Trim tech (Dean Holt was most helpful and knowledgeable) have new black mohair hoods in stock (usually up to 5) complete with seals including front screen item for £585 trade. They no longer fit these, nor provide new frames. I am keen on using this supplier as they are the original manufacturer to Lotus and Kia. Does anyone know who can do the fitting?

I have also spoken to MLC Monsoon Ltd
http://www.monsooncarhoods.co.uk/Lotus-Car-Hoods.php
They can supply and fit a new item with 2 week lead time at £945
Has anyone experience with this Company?
Sometimes I can be interesting
