:agree: .....

I'm sure Tim is appreciative that it was brought to his attention...

Sooooooo ... lets have a look at this one .... :D
Look at the first picture ..the wheels are straight.. and notice the position of the car in relation to the red + white concrete post on the drivers front side ...Then go to picture 5 which is a view from the rear with the roof down ..... The car seems to be in the exact same position in relation to the concrete post... Straight wheels... but the steering wheel ????
is the steering wheel fitted upside down ??? is this possible ???? :D ...or is this a result of the seller "stitching" the photos together...

Maybe I should have gone to Specsavers........

.....but the front wheels look like they are pointing slightly left, which would account for the position of the steeing wheel.

This would also fit in with how the car got to where it is.....

...ie, reversed into a space in a multi-storey car park, next to a concrete pillar.

I don't see anything sinister here, maybe not the best attention to detail for pics when you're selling a car, but nowt to be over wary of....
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Hi Paul,

I went to look at last year when it was at a dealers in Doncaster for £5k. I didnt buy the car as it was a bit roppey and subseqent digging around found out that it had been stood unused for the past 3 years!. It also has a strange mix of SE and S2 parts... I think its also been up for sale by several dealers since then...pure lotus to name one. I think someone also mentioned that it was an insurance write off... I think Gazza will know as its on his database.

Ahh have a look here:

Good luck in your search for an elan, there are lots of people on here who will give you a hand to find a decent one.

I would love to view, but its a bit too much of a journey for me....
Interior pic ...saved the pic and zoomed in ..looks like wear on the bottom of the steering wheel ......could be just a trick of the light though...

Just spent half an hour, polishing my glasses trying to see what all the subsequent posts were on about! :banghead:

Looks like Aqua to me. The two are similar although Aqua is blue & Medina is green.
Perspex plinth on an S2 plate? I think retro-fitting this to a car which did not originally have one is illegal.

I viewed this car last year. It is Aqua Blue. I suppose that the plinth can be changed for a S2 (and later SE) style plinth easily enough. The car will show up as a CAT D (from 2002) if an HPI check is carried out.

Hi Phil,

That's actually my car, I collected it from a user on here called TOMMY.

I did a straight swap for a RX8 but FWD is not really my thing so I am looking to replace it with an Elise or early Exige. I have loads more photos and scans of history and services if you would like to view any.

My number is 07725890099 if you want to talk.

1994 SE? More like a 1992/93 which spent the 1st 1 or 2 years of its life overseas.

I remember. Tommy sold it for the same reason: it wasn't really what he wanted. He never owned it for long either.

Or maybe he doesn't actually know that much about the Elan and is just repeating incorrect information passed on to him? Unless you have reason to label him as a BS merchant, perhaps he should be given the benefit of the doubt.
