Why remove the EGR system? Sinclaires have been telling me to remove it for a couple of years now. What's the point?

EGR takes some of the exhaust gas and puts it back through the engine to help pass emissions. It hinders performance as the exhaust gasses reduce the amount of oxygen in the cylinders. Also adds weight.

I got some Steel Plate off my dad to make some blanking plates. He also parted off the PAS Belt pully from the Altenator pully this will remove a bit of Mass from the engine.

Gazza, assuming the valve is normally closed until activated by the ECU, why not just disconnect the plug on the EGR valve solenoid to try it out?

The plan is to get it done ASAP but it's been a huge job. I think the custom down pipe group buy will be the final part needed, so 2 months and then it should go to Thorney Motorsport for the ride and handling development.
Fitting the fuel tank at the moment and fabricating a custom facia.

The finish is not going to be good as there is no gel coat, which makes it lighter and cheaper.

I'll take some more pics soon.

Work in progress. I have been ambitious and cut the boot off the bottom of the car and the lower back end to lighten it up a bit. It may seem extreme, well I guess it is.
Did someone say diffuser! Where's Joss? I guess he's building F1 cars

I widened the cooler apertures on the lightweight bumper and gave it a couple of coats of the old Norfolk Custard.

Close up of the LED conversion I did on the side lights and indicators. I get a bit of fade in the sidelights when the indicators flash on. Elastictrickery is not my strong point.

An intake for the short induction mod I did, if you look at the bottom of the last page there is a picture of the engine bay before the turbo was removed and you can see the custom induction pointing foreward.
Some ducting is reqired and a nice grille to finish it a bit (and hide the mess inside).
