Still the ABS must make it worth more than £11,000........

Looks like this guy is a Black Belt in Bulshito! Not one of us I hope?
?
Or maybe he doesn't actually know that much about the Elan and is just repeating incorrect information passed on to him? Unless you have reason to label him as a BS merchant, perhaps he should be given the benefit of the doubt.

That proves nothing.
Not everyone knows a great deal about their car. In the case of the Elan, there are owners that aren't members of LEC, have their cars serviced by a garage and are really not that interested or knowledgeable about the spec of the cars.
Have you actually bothered to contact the seller and ascertain whether he is genuine but mistaken or whether he is being less than candid? Unless you have done so and established that the latter is the case then there's no case to answer. For all any of us know, he could be a genuine bloke. Remember Tim and his Pacific Blue S2 on Pistonheads - the chap who posted the wrong interior photo and was apparently reported to PH?

Apparantly Reported, for what? Have YOU got ANY facts about ANYTHING? Innocent mistake? Who cares about innocence? no one is being punished but facts are facts and if something is wrong then it should be put right. Isn't that what this thread is for? Discuss the advert.
M100_DMM wrote:Tim's ad was reported, as a scam ad. See page 8 of this thread. That's a fact. I have no doubt that the report was made in good faith and with the best of intentions, but it turns out that Tim made a mistake with a photograph and that ad. wasn't a scam.
My point is a simple one: before making comments of that sort then it would surely be better to approach the seller and point out his error. If he's genuine, he'll amend the ad. We all make mistakes, don't we? I don't know about you, but I've seen a lot of ads. in which Elans are said to have ABS and even a couple in which the Elan has rear seat belts.
I really don't think that the Bulshito comment or this exchange is good for LEC, so I won't protract it any further. I hope you do the same.

Sorry Nige, this guy is gunning for me and I felt I had to defend myself.

so you can say what you want about me but this is the last post I make on this thread or any other 'Discussion' on LEC.

Phil,
I really hope that you will reconsider this.... the LEC would certainly be the poorer.
.... I agree with what Jon says above,... Your knowledge, comments, advise and commitment to the elan and the LEC are very much appreciated.... and lets be honest here Phil, you have never been one for "pulling out" (that's why you've got six kids Users browsing this forum: No registered users and 2 guests
