Since the leather on my seats has seen better days, I've been looking around for some seats that would be fairly inexpensive but still look good in the Elan. I came across a pair on ebay and ended up getting them for $200 shipped!! They're from a Pontiac Solstice. I had a friend fab up some simple plates and studs and they bolt right in. Very simple and they have plenty of clearance for the top. Even the seat belts work correctly. They have a pocket on the back as well as under your legs on the front of the seat. Same type of adjustment knob on the side and they also pivot forward. They're certainly not as nice as some S2000 seats but the difference in $$$ made it worth it. Here's some pics:

They fit well- but I'd get some seat covers, the cloth looks out of place IMO. But the overall look certainly works. I assume they clear the top no problem?

I agree. I'm not thrilled with the color combo. I don't mind the cloth instead of leather but would have preferred all black. The leather seats on ebay (still Pontiac) go for $700 or so for the pair. If I ever get tired of the cloth, there are several suppliers of leather upholstery for the Solstice at cheap prices. My main goal was funtionality and ease of fitment. And yes, they clear the top just fine!!

Not bad. Probably more supportive than OEM. I have to agree with the others though. Cloth is out of place on our cars.

nsr250,
I just bought a set of Solstice leather seats on ebay and could use just a little confirmation on what you did. They look great but...
1. Did you mount directly to the floor due to the height difference?
2. Did you remount the scatch plate on the back of the seats? If not, have you had any damage?
Thanks,
Bob Small
