LEC Transport required south yorkshire to scotland

Hi all

I need a piece of trim which RayD (south yorkshire) has very kindly been storing for me transported up to me in scotland (or another LEC member in scotland, who I could then collect the part from).

I had planned to get the part myself from Ray, but due to a change in circumstances it is unlikely I will be able to get down to collect it this year.

The part that requires transporting is quite large, it is the trim which sits in the bottom of the hood stowage area and runs the full width of the stowage area

Any assistance will be much appreciated

As I've said to Andy there’s no problem in it being here, but anyone is welcome to call when passing.

We are only 20minutes from either the M1 or the A1.

Out of interest I tried it in the Élan boot and it does fit, just.

I'm happy to receive from Tony and store in Aberdeen until we can arrange onward transport. Trouble is that after next weekend I don't anticipate being near Inverness again for a long time.

Thanks Ray, I should have said in my original post it is me wanting the part fitted to my red elan is why I am looking for some transport assitance.

Tony/John, I should be able to get through to Aberdeen to collect the part if there is someone passing to drop it off with Tony.

1. i have a passanger
2. i`m at a trackday on friday and maybe taking my 2 spare wheels, 2 helmets, sleeping bags and clothing
3. if only i had the time. There`s no dampers or springs on the Pink bomb yet as i`m waiting for parts which hopefully will be hear tomorrow so i`ve got my suspension to sort.
4. I wont be in manchester from Thursday night

If Ray can get it to me then i will try and get it in the car but i will need to remove it when doing the trackday

If it was last week i may of been able to meet up with Ray, but with the car off the road and has to be ready for thursday evening time is at a push.

Thanks for the offers so far.

The part is a bit too big and not very robust so I would prefer not ask Ray to post it. As Ray is happy to store the part it is more my need to have the bit.

Ray has been storing the part for about 4 months and my reason for now looking to get the part transported, is that I would like to get my red elan completely finished and I will not be able to get south myself to collect it as i had originally planned. It is a nice to have rather than a must have.

So....
If you are passing , have space, time and it is convenient, then I would be gratefull if someone could transport the part further north to a willing LEC memeber (eg Tony who comes up to Aberdeen anyway) for onward transport.

Please don't travel miles out of you way or cram it in, If it takes a month or 2 or 6 then it takes that long.

I could collect from Ray, but it would have to be around 2am on a Wednesday , and drop off at either of our Newcastle/Edinburgh/Glasgow branches.

I seriously doubt it would cost even a tenner to post it tho.

What part is it you're wanting?

If it's A100B0947K: Capping Rail-Bulkhead, I've got a new spare one I bought from aftersales and I can bring it to Archie's at the weekend and give it to you. You could then ask Tony to drop yours off to me at a convenient time in the future.

I bought it to replace mine which is scratched, but it's not been fitted yet and I'm not going to be in a position to fit it for a few weeks. If you need one to finish your car, and the one at Ray's is also a new one from aftersales, why don't we swap?

I think the Dico to Rambo to Aviemore route sound good,

Does the timing work for everyone? If it is collected at 2am, not sure what time you would be passing Rambo to drop it off.

I don't work for MacDonald Hotels any more, but I still know 80% of the staff there so a drop off in aviemore would not be an issue as I am sure someone would hold on to it for me

John - it is the roof stowage shelf that Ray is holding onto for me. I bought it off e-bay a few month ago and ray collected it for me, the original plan was for me to go down and collect it, but I am now not likely to be able to get south this year.

I'm heading to Aviemore on Sat 31 July for about 4-5 days so if Dico's Parcelforce is passing by Innerleithen en-route to Edin he can drop it off if its not too convenient for him. If I'm here he can get a cuppa and some home made ginger bread. If not he can leave it under the trees - it's very safe round here and I can't see anyone needing a bit from the rear of an M100 apart from me. I can then transport it to Macdonalds at Coylumbridge or the one down in the centre.

PS I could always do you a favour and fit the new part to my car and give you my old one so you could fit it to Ailwyn's red scrapper

I don't want to post the part as I have had plastic parts desroyed by royal mail in the past. You end up just getting the postage back if you are lucky. Even if I go for the insured postage, they will only give me what I paid for it and the part is NLA
