In about two months this new 1/43 Elan should be available. Here we can see the prototype. It will be available in BRG and Black with open ore closed roof. No idea, if it will be an SE or an S2.

Ooops sorry, this was posted already...

Who's doing this? I have a number of the SMTS 1/43 kits (including the M200) stashed away which I will build one day and as far as I know these are still available to order. If this is a new 1/43 kit then I'm interested in it. Apart from the fact that the prototype is LHD the steering wheel looks more S2 than SE.

Randy,
Rest assured, if you bid on it and win, selling to you and sending it won't be an issue
(as an established LECer, not just a Nigerian chancer, it isn't a problem - if the 'annonymous seller' (who we all know) can't be bothered to pack it up, I'll do it for you:-D )

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

It's exactly the same model as the Maisto one, just with a Lotus box.
Surely it would be easy enough to buy a Maisto one and spray it any colour you like.
Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...!

I bought one of these 4 years ago-
http://www.swapmeetmodels.co.uk/edocar- ... rrency=EUR, and figured I would dig it out after seeing all the interest here in model Elans.
Why on earth did I pay almost £20 for it? I seem to remember at the time only the Shell ones were available in abundance and maybe I thought this was quite rare. Even tho I'm sure its probably identical to the Shell ones.

Well from my point of view I've wanted a yellow one since we got our NMY car in 2003. I found several other colours (and even bought a medina one with the idea of painting it) but I've never seen a yellow one for sale at the various shows/parts fairs etc. Sounds like I've just not been looking in the right places. Obviously I'd prefer a yellow S2 model if such a thing existed. Oh and I am mad enough to value a lotus box over a one with anyone elses name on it if that was part of the choice. But then again, I think I'm a bit potty to be willing to splash maybe £20 or £30 on a toy car....and thats obviously nothing to the real enthusists, so its a tough question - what IS so special about it?
