Alternator

Postby erod » Wed 01.09.2010, 15:12

Does anyone know if I can fit an alternator form the 1991 isuzu impulse RS into a federal Elan?

I was looking at the Rockauto catalog on the web and they list these ones for the 1991 impulse:
http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/x,carco ... ttype,2412

- BECK/ARNLEY Part # 1860545
- REMY Part # 14971
- DENSO Part # 2100408
- BOSCH Part # AL4436X
- ACDELCO Part # 3341911

Are these a direct replacement with the elan alternator?

Erod

Thanks

I can confirm that http://www.woodauto.com/zoomImg.aspx?Ref=ALT30391 fits & works perfectly.

I had one fitted today. The ignition light does extinguish, everything lines up & connects, and it's slightly uprated.

The only minor problems are
1, It's a little big bigger than the original Lotus one, but a bit of leverage sorted that, apparantly!
2, I appear to have bought their last one (although that doesn't mean they won't be getting re-stocked)

Is this something to add to the wiki I wonder?
