Autoglass fitted my windsreen last week. They ordered some trims from lotus without problems but they didn't look right (too wide). So autoglass used some standard trim that they always keep and it looks exactly the same as original.

That old one.........

I take it you're talking about the C-channel finishing ones?

The top trim is still available.... the sides aren't (Depends on where you go), but any fitter worth his salt knows you can cut down a top finisher and use it on the side.

and.....I think they were available in the aftersales, but don't quote me on that one...

you may have trouble retro fitting the trim as the sealant will have set...

If you read the manuals you will see how to do a windscreen change... new trims, A-post seals etc

the windscreen is in use on some "Nobles" IIRC

The big piece of trim was about £12 IIRC (from lotus)

I had the same Phaff with Autoglass a few years ago, It took me a couple of weeks to get all the bits together so they could do the job.

and they left the drivers wiper arm nut finger tight, that wasn't funny when a torential down pour hit me at 70mph, the wiper wrapped itself round the wing mirror and then stripped the splined drive...

i know the windscreen will now be set and the trims cant be fitted now ,
but at the end of the day auto windscreens told me that you cant get them,
so if the trims available they will still need to come back and refit. big g
