I was thinking about stripes on my Elan.
What do you think of the photo attached???

Personally I prefer yher clean look of the blue car. If I were to do a stripe configuration I'd do one like the formula cars of old with a single stripe starting in a blob around the centre mouth. That's just me though.

I like it,
If you go for the stripey option I'd use white Spandex stripes (not pants) and then you can peel them off when you fancy a change.
I've thought about fitting white stripes as well....

Please tell me you meant vinyl stripes, not spandex. Your briniging back last night with a beached whale in white spandex knickers lying by the pool while my friends and I were trying to have a good time.

I bought some silver vinyl (spandex) stripes for the blue one - can't fit them 'til i get round to re-painting the bonet and lights, though....

I`ve also been thinking of going back to stripes, infact tried fitting silver stripes over a year ago to the hardtop but cause of the curve to the front of the hardtop it didn`t work out and i just ended up ripping them off
So then decided to go with the single wide stripe with a small gap then a pin stripe each side, but just never got round to fitting them
It`s the hard top which will be difficult to do

I decided to put grey stripes on my car in order to see if I like stripes on it. After I would put white ones that, in my opinion, are the best colour for blue cars.
I said grey because I have some remaining material from the HRT F1 cars when they have been built here.

I like the grey - especially brings out the silver wheels. And not too many people on LEC can say their car shares parts with an actively-campaigned F1 car!

Nice hard top!
You do realise that the Lotus second string colours were... blue and white, don't you?

just for info, was the second string colour blue with white stripes or white with blue stripes?

Does the single stripe go all the way to the bottom of the rear valance? I'm interested as I was thinking of putting a single silver stripe on my Silk Red Elan (same as the yellow stripe on green), as a means to enhance the colour. Thoughts anyone??

No silver or grey. White is always safe on richly coloured cars. Black looks good on yellow and white cars. Yellow only on green cars.
