Intake Plenum Pipe Grommet

Postby Gareth » Thu 30.09.2010, 10:32

I think that's what I'm looking for!

Anyway, it's the rubber grommet surrounding a pipe (where it runs from the engine bay into the wheel arch) that runs from the top of the engine passing through
the engine bay in to the wheel arch.

Mine's perished!

Any info/help on where to obtain/purchase this appreciated

:D

The SJ part is not an exact match and requires a bit of fettling before it sits neatly in place. It is, however, MUCH better than a ratty, torn original.

Need picture and dimensions of original

Postby tigerdog » Thu 30.09.2010, 18:06

Been doing a bit of searching and came up with this (clicky) :
Grommet-5NEF1_AS01.JPG

It fits my memory of what the original looked like but I no longer have mine to compare. What do you think?

Interesting....

So if there are 10 in a pack, and $14 a pack.....

You wouldn't get some and drop one in the post, would you Doug???? You'd still have 9 left (that you don't need!) :D

You see, only a pseudo-brummie would be so quick and unsubtle on the uptake.

Can I have one too please?

Thanks for the information.

I did "clicky" unfortunately after registering/ordering etc with them when I tried to pay and entered the UK as the sipping destination the shipment was refused due to (from memory) "prohibited export/import"

Never mind, I'll keep trying this side of the pond!

Hey, I haven't even seen one of these in person. I was just looking for someone who has an original, to see if this looks similar. Anyone got dimensions for clam-hole and boost-pipe? Can someone photograph the original to see if we have a match? The grommet itself appears to be made for mounting truck tail lights.

I knew I shouldn't have had the words "group buy" tattooed on me back.
