I have to decided to sell the car I have wanted since I was 11 years old. 2 years ago I was lucky enough to find a gem.
Although I am English, I live abroad and have decided to no longer visit the UK and subsequently the toy I keep must go. I vowed to keep it forever, but am not likely to ever return to the UK and so the car must go as it's simply a waste of one of the best S2's out there.
I'd import it to where I live in a heart beat but RHD are simply not allowed.
This is a heart breaking decision for me, but I am simply holding on to something that I rarely see or use and storage is not really on the cards as I previously mentioned, me ever coming back to the UK is not likely.
So my car is for sale...
1994 Lotus Elan S2
Just about to turn 58,000 miles.
FSH with Lotus and Paul Matty.
I have spent near on £9000 in the two years of ownership bringing this car up to be one of the best. I haven't quite finished but I guarantee this is one of the best out there. Check out the tat, then come and see mine. I started a file to show the £9000.
It has tax and MOT until June.
A full toad Ai606 category 1 alarm system with exterior/interior parameters, tilt sensor and immobiliser.
A £2000 sound system carefully constructed and custom fitted not to change any exterior panels and not be visible. This includes an Alpine head-unit with glove box mounted iPod cable. Dynamat sound deadening used on the doors and rear speaker boxes. MB Quart 13cm front component speakers mated to custom fibre glassed pods mounted on the rear of the door mirrors (original cheaters retained). MB Quart rear speakers. A 600 Watt amplified subwoofer mounted in the roof stowage area. And a boot mounted 4 channel MB Quart amplifier.
New OEM gear nob.
Seats retro-piped in blue.
New OEM over mats. My third set in two years. (I have OCD!)
A full Belts service with Paul Matty.
Then another annual service service with Paul Matty.
Piper 2.25" full stainless exhaust system with sports cat' and Piper pre cat' eliminator.
Turbo was ported by Paul Matty (no boost creep).
'Everest' Mountain Chip.
K&N drop-in air fliter.
Bailey Dump Valve (you probably won't like this but it's easy to remove).
New brake master cylinder mated to Hi-Spec front and rear caliper upgrade, grooved discs and red stuff pads and Goodridge hoses all round (Bob Brown supplied and Paul Matty fitted).
Clear lenses fitted all round (originals retained).
Private plate included (E14N **)
AB Motorsport gear cables and short shift kit fitted..
Every niggle, fitment and problem fixed by Paul Matty, cost no option!!! They get instructed to give the car a once over inspection every MOT and to fix anything they see.
The wheels were re-finished in sparkling silver with new centre caps, valve caps and nut covers.
This is my baby and I hate unreliability. Money gets thrown at this car to ensure it's never going to let me down. £9000 of money in two years to be precise. Not including the original purchase price!
If I were to continue the project I would get the seats re-connilised to make them as perfect as new. And the front end is quite peppered as the all are. It's not quite 100% yet. But it nearly is and is better than the junk I see at the Lotus shows.
Pacific Blue metallic.
Magnolia leather with pacific blue piping.
6x Clear lenses.
4x red powder coated calipers.
Black roof.
Nardi steering wheel.
E14N plate.
Simply gorgeous!!!
P.M me with interest and photo's.
I think the car is worth 8.5K all day long, perhaps more!!!
But I think the market doesn't reflect that right now and so I want £6950. Fixed and priced to move. Negotiate and die!
