Just my opinion but if one does decide to go the route of the monza lights I'd stick with the Elise or late Esprit variants. 1st off they're lotus OEM originals and fall in line with the overall car. 2nd they're already DOT/TUV approved and have said coding for road use. 3rd they look the dog's!!!! All said and done I still feel the Elise bulb type lights are the best suited, road legal, best looking and OEM lights for the car that don't look out of period for the Elan's lines. When some go all too modern on a classic car it not only looks out of place but IMHO devalues the car. Just my 2p.

Side note but that is why I went with Hella projectors from an early 90's BMW 3 series. I know they're not lotus parts but they are period for the car and by extension suited quite nicely to the overall "pedigree" theme I was going for.

note to anyone interested, things have started to move on this and the first couple will be made up soon. Idealy id like to sell a couple plain plinths as this would save me an outlay i cant realy afford, then the more complete kits, after that id be happy to look into taking suggestions for future projects/designs.

please email me as im not getting on here as much as id like --- matt (@) mattdon . co . uk
