Jon, these are excellent pictures among all the other beauties... Could you please tell me, where you have made them?

Thx, kind regards

Hi Don,

all those pictures were taken in the Brecon Beacons (South Wales). The one you quoted was along this section of road - in the layby just at the LHS of the road here, looking north as the link should be.

cheers,

Jon

Smaug was treated to a psychedelic photo enhancement by Dawn of the Rancho Santa Fe Secret Car Club. Or as they used to say in Haight Ashbury, "Oh wow man, I see it too..."

Here you go then: Nice run from Chepstow up to the Elan Valley visitor centre (nice place for a cuppa/snack):
google maps link
And a slightly longer run back google maps link
The afternoon is a bit dull from Brynamman to Abercraf, but the mountain roads either side of that make it worth the slog.

There's another nice cafe in Sennybridge - on reaching the A40, turn left (for Llandovery) and it's on the way out of the town - inside the Texaco garage. Not sure how early it shuts in the afternoon though.

There's plenty of other good roads in the Brecons too - I can pretty much make up any arbitrary length route to suit :burnout:

Have fun - watch out for bikers. I generally keep to B/C class roads as they tend to be much clearer. The camera vans often come out for bikers too, but are generally on the trunk routes.

You're too kind, but all you need is a pretty Lotus and some nice scenery - here's a couple of the Elise I owned prior to the Elan

there's a bunch more here - the scenery in Wales makes pretty pictures very easy:

Outside one of the nicest pubs on the Island, this is about as far south as you can drive without getting wet.
Could have done with the dingy on the way back from MB World last week :D
