Ok.....so I got some shiney 3m number plates for the elan......
Last year on the Le Mans trip it was that hot and my rear green house was cookin the rear plate to the extent that it melted the sikaflex and warped the plate......ive now got round to sort this....my theory is upside down in the oven on a baking tray at about 75deg C...try and let it melt itself flat......anyone tried this?.....anyone any ideas about the melting point of perspex......
Cheers

Go for it Gareth - put something heavy on top to make sure it flattens. Did this with my works car pass and forgot about it. A few hours later is had changed from a curvy 3" x 2" piece of plastic to a perfectly flat one....... about 3cm x 2cm!

Sounds like it's worth a try. Instead of a baking plate, I'd think about using window glass (from a house, not a car!) It will provide a good flat surface. Maybe press the plate between two pieces with a brick on the top one. Start with a cold oven, heat then let cool to room temp before removing. I used this technique once or twice to take the warp out of old vinyl LPs.

How about putting it a flat tray with a weight, and then pouring boiling water over it.... or is 100c too hot ?
