This is an homemade version, the material is readily available ... it’s held on with hidden plastic suckers at the back.

What's the readily available material called ?
Where did you get the hidden suckers and clips around the mirrors ?
More pictures please :poke:
I think most guys on here could proberbly make their own, or in Specky's case remake his own

Sorry Randy, I’ve only seen your post for the first time today … June 22nd :?

If it were the middle of winter I’d see to it straightaway but I’ve started several outside jobs which my wife seems to have a great interest in me finishing.

Steve,

I asked for “shower proof” material on a local market stall. It comes in different colours ... but black on the inside.

The suckers came from Wilkinson’s ... http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/

The clips were recovered from my son’s backpack but I’ve since seen them for sale somewhere … I’ll need to have a think as to where it was.

I’ll do write up as soon as I get chance.

Ray,
You can get those type of clips (which are often described as 'webbing buckles' or 'fastex clips') from a number of places. I've previously purchased some from camping/walking shops such as 'Blacks', and you can also get them fairly easily on ebay....for example....

Cheers,

Martin.

So possibly a chance you'd consider maybe making me one this winter? :drunk:

Maybe my wife would consider giving it a run as a gift for me... I look forward to the writeup when you have a chance.

Thanks Martin,

It may have been Black's where I had seen them.

Just need to be careful of the size from eBay ... the ones on the link would probably be too small at 20mm

You need 4½ metres of 54 inch wide shower proof material.

Cut it in half across the width and sew the two 54” wide lengths together side by side.

Drape the sheet over the hood … coloured side down …inside out.

Gather the material together to form three equal darts along each side.

One … on the centre joint you have just sown.

Two … Starting at the front top corner going down parallel to the centre joint. (I considered following the line of the ‘A’ pillar but it would probably result in the mirror area looking less tidy.)

Three … Starting at the rear top corner going down at an angle that would represent the line of the ‘C’ pillar.

And the same on the other side.

Mark around the desired shape allowing half an inch for turning over.

The material doesn’t fray so it only needs turning over once all way round.

It should be possible to avoid having to set an extra piece in each side for the Fastex clip as I did.

Let me know if there’s anything I’ve missed.
