I have owned this car for 2 years and I planned to keep hold of it forever... Due to this fact I started replacing parts bit by bit in the hope to have a nearly new Elan in a few years. This is a sale I don't want to have to make but due to my wife facing redundancy my weekend treasure has to go. The car is standard apart from the much needed brake upgrade and the Mountain MAP switcher. I have added the exspensive AP 4 pot Calipers with Mintex 1144 Pads and Goodridge stainless hoses. These offer amazing breaking power and easy change pad swaps. Also the car is fitted with the highly regarded Mountains MAP swticher. This allows the car to have upto 200bhp at the turn of a switch when needed, all by altering the boost etc while still allowing the safety fuel cut to work. I tend to usually keep the car on the standard setting then driving about then when in the mood with the time and free space I make use of the extra power by switching it onto a higher setting.
I searched for a good few months trying to find the right Elan and this car fitted the bill perfectly for me, History is as follows:

All these are stamped and marked in the Owners handbook with dates / Garages name and addresses. The Book is a bit weathered, think someone might of left it out in the rain once. However the history in the book is all readable, id go as far as saying it adds character. Most stamps in here are Lotus / Sports car specialists.
The next service history is all in paper / receipt format which is from the last 7 years or so...

The car made 175bhp on a rolling road the other month running standard power. With the mountain swtich on the higher boost setting it made 199.6 BHP. This is a quick car which has the reliabilty and braking to go with it. Its a great fast car thats easy to handle and control, very easy to drive fast safely. With the use of the MAP switcher its a 2 second job to have the extra power if needed or not.
Bits I will mention to save wasting any ones time...
The car is 21 years old so it has imperfections like all cars.
Few cracks in the lacquer / Gel coat (these have never got worse in the 2years I have had it). The Side front wing is not hugely noticeable the rear bumper more so. It has a chip and crack there but its all shown in the pictures in my gallery.
Few stone chips here and there ( large one on front bumper in the middle)
Lacquers been rubbed a bit where the hood sits on the boot.
Seats are in good nick but some wear here and there as to be expected (mainly on drivers main side bolster). Overall in good condition.
Carpets worn thin under drivers foot abit. Though never seen as under replaced mats.
Exhaust knocks at the front sometimes where the centre section / exhaust flexy join sits a bit high (something Iv been meaning to quickly fix for ages).
Passenger window goes up a bit slower than drivers one, though does work fine.
Bit of a gap on the passenger window where it seals near the hood seal. Hood / window could be alligned to solve this.
Wheels are not curbed but paint has gone a bit thin in a few places over the years from brake dust build up I guess. Black mark on front wheel is sticky glue from an old wheel weight. One wheel is missing one Lotus cap, I have an S2 wheel one and 2 new silver SE wheel ones to go on though.
Most seals are 20 years old so show signs of age. All working fine though a few marks / nicks here and there.
