We have recently been inundated with new members from the four corners of the world, most of whom were offering our membership untold riches and a multitude of new ways of achieving personal gratification. Unfortunately, LEC is a non-profit making non-advertising forum so the moderators have, with great reluctance, had to remove these members. It was undoubtedly causing these wonderful people to waste a vast amount of their very precious time to fill in all the details to complete the registration process, so it is with great reluctance that I have removed the membership application tab in an attempt to allow them to avoid such nugatory tasks.

As an interim measure, would any wasters who wish to partake in that most depraved and politically incorrect activity of Lotus Elan worship please e-mail MembershipRequest@LotusElanCentral.com?

I am sure I speak for all the management team when I apologise unreservedly to all the wonderful benefactors who would otherwise grace us with their presents.

NO Martin! All members remain registered and it's only necessary to e-mail if you are not currently registered but wish to become a new member.

Most disappointed that you have removed some of the more recent additions to the Wiki How to guides - Only this weekend I managed with the Wlki's help to get a second income of over £100K for 30 seconds work a week, enlarge a certain part of my anatomy and find a parts cross referance for the heater blower for my Elan(Thanks Tweeterdriver) - Now thats what I call service.

Have you looked into using a captcha on the registration form?
http://www.captcha.net/ gives a free and fairly simple option, with plugins for a lot of forum and wiki platforms. I've used them in the past and found them very effective for reducing spam to manageable levels.

We did have Adam (we even had Al's special 'is it a tree, is it an Elan?' captcha) but it went totally ballistic a few months ago.
