Going from "17 wheels "15

Postby trig » Sat 20.08.2011, 18:22

Since buying my Elan 3 years ago I've only known "17 wheels with ET30 offset 205/40 tyres and have been happy with the drive but feeling I could be missing out on something.,,So I have recently picked up a set of cheap standard "15 wheels with standard size tyre's just to see if there is much difference....and there is, well that's was no surprise :-)

Its not a massive amount of difference but you notice straight away the steering feels light , and next I noticed it feels more comfy over uneven roads and I only need one hand on the steering wheel , before over bumpy roads or under hard acceleration I would need to hold on tight with both hands but now its much less effort and a more relaxing drive, ,, cant wait to fit track rubber now

The only downside is they don't look as good as the "17 :(

Now on 16" S2 :bananasex:

The 16" S2 does not feel as precise as the 15" SE ,, but look way more sexy :-D

Why not go for 16"? I have them on my SE.

Not very clean as the tyres had just been fitted.

If you can't be a good example, then you might as well be a terrible warning
