Hardtop values?

Postby shandy » Tue 08.11.2011, 21:58

What are good Kuching hardtops going for these days? I have a very nice one sitting in the garage
and am toying with the idea of selling it. It is in gloss black and has it's own top to frame clasps so
these would be included. It's unlined but is in exceptional condition - seals all good, paintwork is
unmarked etc. It was painted and fitted professionally by Paul Matty but has hardly been used.
Is Kuching actually still doing them? If not i guess that makes them more desirable.

Probably not as much as you are expecting. £1200 maybe. Hope you get more.

Gloss black may help you though. Not quite the same as fitting a yellow roof to a grey car :)

It's a kind of semi-gloss 'Battleship grey' on the inside. Looks pretty good against a
car with a full dark grey leather interior like mine that's why i haven't worried about
flocking it tbh.

My car's Calypso red and it looks very good against the black hardtop - a bit like a
works Healey 3000 so kind of retro. Was advised by Paul Matty to go for this as he'd
seen a few that didn't match as one colour. I think it's a nice contrast on a yellow, red
or grey car in particular.
