Come to South Gloucestershire! They've put extra traffic lights up for 4x4 drivers, people on horseback
(obviously after the gypsy vote) people in mobility scooters and HGV drivers. Still can't see any of the buggers but there are so many, you can see the green, yellow or red glow even in bright sunlight.

My
Steel Blue Elan is about to appear in Autotrader.
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.
Click on my WWW link for information on chips and ElanScan.

Is there something about Leigh on Sea?
Two on Autotrader the other day, on forecourts not far apart.
Don't think I'd bother with the cheap one though, unless I had space for a restoration...

I would have said that it could well be genuine.....
its still got michelin MXX2 tyres on it....they were the original spec from lotus and have not been made for centuries.....
I think they might need replacing......

Paint join lines at the back of the doors look terrible (particularly on the sills - so I don't think it's just a trick of the light)

Wonder if it hasn't done any more miles as the brakes are so badly siezed on

I know what you mean about the colour, but metallic paint is a lot more sensitive to different lighting conditions than solid colours so I think it is Silk.

I'm thinking about going to look at this elan on Saturday and being a novice wondered if any member from the local area (Surrey GU15) could help with the viewing. Yes, it needs a new hood but it looks okay? I intend driving it in good weather and it will be garaged so hood will be down. I've negotiated a discount over the phone.
Is there any information on this elan in the records?
Thanks
Bruce

There was some discussion earlier this year on this car, but posts on this thread seem to jump from Jun 2013 to June 2014, with nothing in between??!!
Would be worried the selling garage seem to think that changing the cambelt only 4200 miles ago is OK, when in reality that is about 6 years ago and would definitely need changing right away.
The tyres, if the original ones and it doesn't state this, just that they are Michelin, would probably also need changing if they are original!!
This was the gist of the previous posts if I remember correctly.

Was that the Sliver SE in Lotus Silverlink? If so, somebody in Northampton bought it.
