I would like to gather some parts as I know at some point in the near future I would like to have the head gasket replaced
It seems an OEM Head gasket is preferred to aftermarket ones. I assume this is due to quality? From what I have read recently Most other parts people here seem to be using aftermarket parts? Is this due to the age of original parts or price difference or availability?
The last time I had the water pump / cam belt, pulleys, etc replaced by a local garage (about 5 years ago) I remember he was quite concerned that one of the parts was not a genuine part. I think that was due to it not being available at the time... ( or at least not in the same place I ordered the rest of the parts).
If OEM Isuzu engine parts are still available is it worth the extra expense to buy OEM parts?
Up to now I have not found many suppliers that still offer original parts.... Or who will ship outside of the US.!
Would just like to know other people's opinions / reasons.
I guess reading my post above and looking at the amount of miles I do in a year. I should not worry too much about quality

I have a friend that looks after alot of classic cars for many of the royal family members here and I normally let him do any major work on the car. Although I like to do most of the jobs myself I know he will do alot better job than I will.
