near-identical power mirror switch for the Elan

Postby andrewp » Tue 20.12.2011, 05:08

SAAB's built under GM-ownership (like the later year 900's, and all 9-3's) have an identical power mirror switch to the Elan . . . however it does not have an electric heater switch nor the yellow LED. For certain the SAAB 9000 has a wholly different switch. I have yet to confirm if a SAAB 9-5 has the right switch.

Saturn Ion's (with this power option) as well as Saturn L-series cars also have the identical switch (again without the heater function). Beware that beige interior Saturns come with a tan-coloured switch. Many newer Chevy's (like the new Malibu and numerous SUV's) also have this same switch.

Hope this helps someone.

On 1999 to at least 2005 SAAB 9-5's there can be a heated power mirror switch (it appears to be optional for those years). That switch does not have, however, a yellow LED. There is no LED light on this switch.

Just to confirm, I bought a Saab switch off Ebay, it has the heater button (gray instead of black), but no LED indicator. It has the same plug as the Elan and is a direct fit. Saab part number is 4412631.
