Yes. I'll check it all. I am trying to find a garage locally that will let me use their ramps or lift so that I can give it a good going over.
If it is the bushes, where is the best place to get them? There are only two agents for Lotus in Spain and they aren't interested in selling spare parts. One is in Barcelona and t'other in Santander. miles away. SJ seem very expensive added to which, the postage is incredible. John

Have you checked alignment? Toe out will make it very skittish and almost feel like it is steering itself.

No I haven't checked alignment. I have not got a tracking gauge. But I know a man who has. Thanks John.

Got the car up in the air and checked the raft bushes. They are all fine as are all wishbone bushes. So taking the advice of one of the replies to my plea for help, I took the car for a tracking check. Well the mechanics in the tyre place were really keen to help as they don't see many lotus's in Spain. The tracking was miles out. It was tracking in almost a degree. The adjustment on the track rod ends was seized but after a few spanner throwing tantrums they set it up at 0.25 degrees out. BUT THE PROBLEM WAS...... a loose bottom ball joint nut. Thank goodness they found it. SO problem resolved and a sincere thank you to all the bloggers that have helped. John
