missing hose from 2nd butterflies

digging further into my project i,ve noted the vacum hose is missing from the reservoir canister feeding the actuator to the secondary butterflies = they we,re permanently open - OK
obviously this doesn't bugger up running too badly as it did run ok - other than the VSS cel issue, dare say fuel economy wasn't at its best - but now i'm back tracking to put it back to the way it supposed to be
do I need to fit a check valve to the vacuum supply to the reservoir ? or is it a straight feed from the plenum

how do you test the control valve to see that it opens the butterfly correctly ??
any other imfo - experience with this bit I should know ??,
Oh for a crystal ball and some decent knowledge of the cars previous history

No check valve is needed, just run a hose from the plenum to the reservoir. Very easy to test,
just free rev the engine past 5000 rpm and you can see it open from under the hood.

You will see a large differance in power between 3500 and 5000 with it working right..

GREAT - THANKS, found the original hose: the end was split, i,ll take this as a hint to go replace all the small bore hoses: the originals have come of age
