So you had a complete rebuild and how much was it...

Had to dig receipt out, £378 and don't now ask me what I had done as I can't remember.

But they have obviusly also changed the pipe, seals and sandblast cleaned it. It did have the corner missng on one of the turbine blades and (using my incredibly dim knowledge) had the shiney round bit where the waste gate joins replaced!

And of course balanced and tested it.

What needs doing to your seats? Diaphragm wasn't it?

Sounds like we could make use of some sort of e-marketplace? There must be spares all over the place & others who can make use of them. Having a list of them & knowing where to find them could be better than having to post in the wanted section & waiting for replies?

Yes, you did kindly give me some speakers for my doors, just not got the skills to fit myslef or grabbed the time from anyone else to help yet.

Driver diaphragm still needs sorting and I'd like to fit heated seats too, again, same issue as above.

Old turbo is for sale in the Elan Parts for sale section. Perhaps a clearer place to see a list of what is available would help the forum more, if it were kept up to date efficiently too!

My Elan got confused by the mild winter & came out of hibernation earlier than expected so I may well go to Silverstone.

If it happens to be a warm day, I don't mind helping to fit the speakers & sort out the seat diaphragm. These are both easier than I think you expect them to be.
I chickened out when stripping my seat though..so I won't offer to help with that.

Mine is sucking up oil faster than a fat kid drinking a milkshake at Maccy D's!!!

And dumping it out the exhaust with such force and volume as a RAF smoke screen!

Economy as well as performance seems to have improved.

Went to Snowdon in North Wales for the weekend, not with a light foot and loved the twisty Welsh roads, got just over 350 miles from a tank!

That was carrying 2 people and a loaded boot too.
