viewtopic.php?f=80&t=10208&hilit=rear+Light+Pods^ This seems to be the point when most people who have them acquired the rear light conversion.

Agreed. There just aren't any any more. What there were, were one-offs and specials.
It also appears that to use Elise rear lights, the eyebrows have to go, making this a "plug and play" impossibility.
Evora (if they're smaller) or these Hella units look a possibility, but I reckon it's still a project someone needs to start from scratch, making an exact OEM fit moulding and mounting for both M100 and Renault GTA's if "volume" sales are needed to make it worthwile...

What do you mean by this? My Elise pods were a direct nondestructive swap, even the wiring. They probably took no longer than 10 minutes to install each side and can be just as easily switched back.
If you can find somebody who can make them again, perhaps you should see if there's enough support to make a group buy worthwhile for them?

The early ABS prototypes I built which are floating around the UK somewhere did not need any eyebrow removal or any modification of any kind. They were a drop in replacement for the Renault lights. Only the complete rear valance needed removal of everything in addition to the new plate light.

I'm afraid I can't shed any more light on the source of these 'pods' other than what's on the original threads.
To summarise, I bought them from another LEC member about 2 years ago so am not best placed to vouch for the original source. From the discussions on this forum, it looks like they were made by Lotus Girl Marie some years ago as a one-off (or maybe two or three). She has stated that there is no pattern/mould in existence that could be re-used.

Same here, I got my pods from ChrisP about 2-3 years ago. I guess there were only half a dozen made or so?
Didn't Surfboardfiller sell his mould for the plinth to somebody else on this forum? Perhaps Mattdon?

Only that they may have been too big to fit into an "adapter" moulding, with the eyebrows still in place - it would now appear that this is not the case and I stand corrected....

I'll make this easy. I made them. Almost 10 years ago. Sold them on to a lad in the UK who had them painted red. Not sure why but he then sold them on and now their black and on a beautiful blue machine enjoying life. I only made the one set as I really hated the OEM lights. They were on my car til I started my rear valance run. The one set was made from ABS and I heat formed sheets of ABS to make them. There are no moulds, bucks, drawings, schematics, dimensions or measurements of any kind that I made when I did them. I used the OEM lights as a guide and my own artistic ability and aesthetic taste to come up with the final product.

Hi Chris,
Just became a member of the LEC forums but watched it for many years.
I own a S2 car which got shunted last week, both rear lights are damaged.
And now I am looking for alternatives and was wondering if you still do the rear pods.
Would be most helpfull if you could make me a set.
Best regards,
Hans

Probably not a production run - they are too labour intensive, but more made on request

Drop me a PM if you are interested in a panel or pods

The first round tail light conversion I made and later sold on when I made the Fed rear valance. The first set was a direct replacement for the OEM lights without any removal of the eyebrows or cutting of any sort. Built in ABS plastic circa 2003/04. They were the first ones and only set I made.
