Postby Danny Wilde » Tue 20.03.2012, 22:15

Hi, Is anything to modify on 1991 Elan SE to install S2 BBS wheels? (wheel studs length for example )
Thanks

The SE bolts will fit fine however the S2 bolts have a smaller head which mean you are less likely to scratch the wheels when undoing them

Nope.......
The head size is different 17mm(s2) instead of 19mm(se).....think there is a differnce in length too but nowt to worry about.......be careful with wheel brace as its a larger head so mind your paint

Thank you for your answers.
I asked this question because we often read that the suspensions were modified between S1 and S2 to accept the wheel rims of 16 inches. Is it a reality?

The suspensions were modified - different spring rates - which may have an effect but the S2 wheels work fine on the earlier car.
